Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

For posterity, I'm putting my holiday greeting here along with one of the best Santa pictures we've gotten in many years of Santa visits.  I LOVE it!

We hope this holiday greeting finds you well.  We've had a great year and, as usual, can't believe how quickly the time has gone.

Kathryn turned 8 in February and is still our resident tomboy.  She continues to be an avid soccer player and while she was offered a space on a travel team, declined in favor of "daddy soccer".  Nate enjoys coaching her team so we were happy with her decision.  Nate organized a winter team so she's playing now along with her newest sport: basketball.  Those of you who know Nate know he's overjoyed and won't be surprised to learn that he offered to be the Assistant Coach after helping with the first practice.  He beams when he talks about what a good point guard she is (the same position he plays on his YMCA league.)  Kathryn played softball in the spring and is looking forward to the next season.  She is in her third year as a Brownie scout and I am still leading her troop.  She's excelling in third grade and she loves to read and build with Legos in her spare time.

Juliana turned 6 in July and has spent this year trying a lot of new things.  She took gymnastics in the winter, played softball in the spring, went to basketball camp with Kathryn in the summer and joined the Drill Team this fall.  Her team, the Wildcats, performed a "Hello" cheer and a dance to Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA" at various venues including the mall and a football game.  She loved it and can't wait for the next season to begin.  She is also playing basketball and is quite the dribbler.  Yes, Nate is very proud that his girls are displaying sound fundamentals (they even dribble with their left hand).  Juliana was thrilled to FINALLY start 1st grade so she could go to Kathryn's school and ride the bus!  She has officially begun her scouting career as a Daisy.

Alexander turned 4 in September with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake made by yours truly.  The day after his birthday, he informed me he wouldn't watch Mickey Mouse because it's for babies and thus is life with a 4 year old, which I wouldn't trade for anything.  He still goes to Montessori school and he takes gymnastics at The Little Gym. Anything in the past was "yestertaday" and he calls me "dude" regularly.

Nate and I are doing well and are enjoying parenting these wonderful children of ours.  We both ran in the Freedom 4 Miler on July 4th and Nate ran the Columbus Half Marathon in October and beat his goal.  I am hoping to do the half marathon next year, while he is planning to do the full marathon.  He's also toying with the idea of doing a Triathlon in the summer.

We had a fantastic vacation on the Gulf coast of Florida with our great friends, the Engelmanns, and we're looking forward to going back this summer.  I got a bonus vacation in November when Nate's mom took me to an all-inclusive spa in Mexico.  We spent a wonderful week working out, getting daily massages and being pampered, in general; such a great trip!

We added to our family in January when we adopted 3 kittens from a local shelter.  We were planning to get 2, but they are siblings and I couldn't just leave the third there all by herself.  Turns out, she's my favorite so thank goodness I'm a sucker!  :)

We wish you the very best in 2010!

Lori, Nate, Kathryn, Juliana and Alexander
