Our baby turned 1 on September 15th!

Happy Birthday, Alexander!

We can't believe how quickly the past year has gone. You're such a big boy already. After months of scooting on your tummy doing the "Army crawl" to get around, you've figured out how to crawl on your hands and knees and boy, are you fast! Being able to reach up onto end tables, and such, has presented a whole different set of babyproofing challenges. We're trying to stay a step ahead, but you are into everything. Mainly, the moss in the big tree. You love pulling that out and spreading it everywhere and you've been known to taste it on occasion. Gotta get your roughage, I guess. :)

You had a great time at your 1st Birthday Bash. Ama, Ampa and GiGi came from Maryland to help you celebrate. We had a big party at the shelter at the park and lots of friends joined us. You had a great time eating your cake and put your face in it at one point. You got a lot of great presents and have been busy exploring all your new toys.

Your 1 year check-up went well. You're 29.25 inches long and you weigh 20 pounds. Your head has grown, too, and Dr. Bolton always says "good brain growth." You had 3 immunization shots, so that wasn't fun, but you were a trooper, as always, and only cried for a few minutes.

We love you very much, baby boy, and we are looking forward to continuing to watch you grow and learn ~

Mommy, Daddy, Kathryn and Juliana
