Alexander's 3rd Birthday: Party Edition!

We celebrated Alexander's birthday a couple weeks early while visiting Ama and Ampa's cabin in western Maryland. I made the birthday boy a Cars cake complete with the desert backdrop and fresh pavement of Radiator Springs. Lightening McQueen (Wiken Keen!) was all set to shoot off the edge of the cake, but some of the frosting got caught under the launcher and he kind of meandered off, as opposed to rocketing, as I had envisioned. We got the launcher cleared out and the second try was a success. Alexander loved it!

No party is complete without new clothes and no wardrobe is complete without plenty of outfits featuring Cars.

Lightening McQueen lights up on this one. It was a fast favorite. Ama knows this boy.

Get your motor running...head out on the highway...lookin' for adventure...Alexander's new *motorcycle* is complete with turn signals that light up and many fun sounds. He gets mad if you call it a car and is quick to correct your most egregious error. Sissy helped him figure out the controls.

He got a big kick out of his cake and loves singing "Happy Birthday" even if it's to himself.

We love you, sweet boy!
