Kathryn and Juliana spent the first week of August at Girl Scout camp. They had a blast. It was Kathryn's third time going and Juliana's first. The leaders plan all kinds of wonderful activities for the girls including, fishing, creeking, swimming, crafting, making potlatches (little crafts to pin to their hats), cooking over a fire, raising and lowering the flag, visiting the Elam Environmental Center (birds, planetarium, etc.) and cleaning the latrine...always a favorite. ;)

In addition to these activities, Kathryn, being an older camper, got to do archery and canoeing. And she wants me to add that she got to take down the flag one afternoon.
On the night before the last day of camp, the older girls got to stay for a late night. They worked on skits and songs in the afternoon and cooked their own dinner. The family was invited to attend a bonfire and see what the girls had been up to all week, meet the camp leaders and see the groups perform. Kathryn was excited to be a part of this special night this year.

I videotaped her unit singing their song. I LOVE the grin on her face while singing. It's priceless. They lose it a little at the end, but overall, it's a great performance. Enjoy!
