Time's up.

Clue, Jr. is the name of the game in our house right now. We've played 4 times this afternoon and believe me when I say that is quite enough Clue, Jr. for one day. Kathryn was home again today after running a fever through yesterday afternoon and into the evening. For the uninitiated, a child must be fever-free for 24 hours prior to returning to school and she didn't make the cut. Not that she was ready to return yet, anyway, after having eaten all of 3 small slices of apple, 2 saltines and 1/2 a banana yesterday. That meager amount of food didn't quite provide the energy she would have needed for school today.

She hasn't eaten much more today, but she's definitely feeling better. She spent the morning on the couch with me, but hasn't rested since. Thankfully, she and Juliana have gotten along well the past couple days. As a matter of fact, Juliana has been very sweet to her big sister. Yesterday, Kathryn said she was cold so I put a couple blankets on her and Juliana retrieved her beloved Purple B and told Kathryn all about how it has two sides and one is soft and that's her favorite side and proceeded to put it on Kathryn to help her warm up. (It's so heartwarming to see proof that they actually love each other.) Then, while Kathryn snoozed, Juliana collected all of Kathryn's favorite stuffed dogs and arranged them all around her face. By the time I saw this, Kathryn was waking up or I would have taken a picture. It was so sweet and Kathryn appreciated the gesture while whispering to me that they were making her hot. She didn't want Juliana to hear her and think her ungrateful. There's hope for these two yet.

So far, there haven't been any signs of anyone else catching this bug. Although, Nate tried hard when he mistakenly drank from Kathryn's cup last night. He immediately realized this most critical error and spit the water out and washed out his mouth as fast as he could! So keep your fingers crossed that our luck continues. I'll truly be shocked if this is the end of it; shocked and very, very relieved.
