How fun it is to take time to reflect on the milestones of our children's lives. Kathryn's birthday theme was Suzy's Zoo, which was also her bedroom theme. We were so fortunate to have so many friends and family join us to celebrate the birth of our first child. She received many wonderful gifts and really seemed to enjoy the festivities. Kathryn's reaction to the piece of birthday cake presented to her: a frown and then a look at us like "What, exactly, would you like me to do with this?" She dipped a few fingers into the icing and didn't touch it again. I don't even think she tasted it until Grammee fed her a few bites. What a monumental disappointment! We were so ready for a smash-fest. Little did we know what we were wishing for until a couple short years later when Juliana turned 1. :) Tune in next Friday for the third installment of Friday Flashback: Happy 1st Birthday, Juliana!
