Continued from "My Best Friend's Wedding"

So the kids had a great time playing "Collect as many Caterpillars as you can in these Empty Flower Pots" and it kept them busy in the back yard while we got ready to go. However, none of us foresaw the problem that was Juliana getting attached to said caterpillars and insisting we bring them home with us. Seven and a half hours away. You've never seen such big tears and we felt horrible, but there was no way we were caving on this one. I draw the line at creepy crawlies in the car in the house anywhere near me. One was trying to escape even as we discussed the matter. I had a fleeting thought of putting them in a Ziploc and being on our way, but I didn't want to murder the lot of them just to appease my child. Life is full of disappointments. She might as well learn that now. Yadda. Yadda. Yadda. She was so sad and didn't blink an eye when she said she didn't care if they all died. She just wanted to take them home. How does one argue with that? Um. No. That's not very nice. They are living creatures and they need to stay at their own home. Yadda. Yadda. Yadda. She didn't care. More sobbing. So, we decided to take a few pictures of her with the caterpillars daddy and I spared from her death sentence and away we went. As always, the kids were great travelers and it was a pleasant trip home.

Alexander did his part to behave on the trip.
